Visitors to the 1843 Battery Carriage House Inn have the unique opportunity to revel in Charleston’s historical origins and its modern charms. Just through the crafted iron gates of our inn, guests can watch sailboats skim along the waters of Charleston Harbor with legendary Fort Sumter in the distance. In the foreground are Civil War-era cannons lining White Point Gardens — better known as “The Battery” — and its beautiful, peaceful park lined with massive oak trees that have witnessed the history of this amazing site where the civil war began.
