Lake Creek Lodge, Camp Sherman, Oregon
Lake Creek Lodge began as Martin Hansen's Resort in the 1920's. The main lodge burned and was replaced circa 1935. Bud and Roblay McMullin purchased the resort in 1938 and operated it for over thirty years. The property originally included about 70 acres of land and advertised a “sheep pasture” golf course on what is today Metolius Meadows. Bud McMullin died in 1955, and when Roblay sold the lodge in the late 1970's she retained a life estate in her cabin. She lived there until 2001 when she passed away on the property, as was her wish.

The twenty three permanent structures on the site consist of the main lodge, fifteen cabins, several out-buildings, a staff quarters and a small historic cabin known as the cooks house, which is not used as a rental dwelling unit. It most closely represents the size and simple construction of the original cabins. The main lodge is substantially intact as it was originally constructed and features hand hewn beams, vaulted ceilings and knotty pine paneling. The cabins have been extensively modernized, but still retain a rustic charm and a 1930s look and feel. The original siding, roofing and windows have been upgraded, decks have been added and in several instances two cabins have been combined into one larger one.
