When Workshops aren’t scheduled, the cabin and riverside shelters are for rent. Either work well as a home base from which to explore the Elkins region. With the addition of the new sleeping shelters, Water Gap Retreat is a perfect spot for a family reunion, board meeting or small group retreat. Between the Sleeping Shelters and the Cabin, we can now accommodate groups up to 25.

The 133 square foot custom designed waterproof canvas shelters were designed by architect Bryson Van Nostrand of Buckhannon, WV. They have a spacious four-alcove design that will comfortably accommodate up to three people. Entrances open on the Shavers Fork River. With Michael Davis' shibori dyed silk fabrics forming the sidewalls, Laurie Gundersen's Appalachian Rag Rugs warming the wood floors and leaf patterns dancing on the translucent canvas roof, we have done our best to create a special sleeping space.

The Cabin at Water Gap Retreat has three sleeping areas and comfortably accommodates up to eight people. The two downstairs bedrooms have full size beds. A sleeping loft is reached by a ladder. The cabin has a well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, front porch, beautiful stone fireplace, a hot tub on the back deck, a television with a DVD player, small stereo, and air conditioning. In season, there’s an organic fruit and vegetable garden.
