Lake Thunderbird State Park, Norman, Oklahoma
This state park offers a variety of water activities and recreation, boat ramp, hunting in specified areas during season, horse rental and boarding (Thunderbird Riding Stables, 405-321-5768), horseback riding/hiking/mountain biking/ nature/interpretive trails, restaurant (in season), two marinas (Calypso Cove, 405-360-9846 and Little River, 405-364-8335), nature center with interpretive programs and scheduled events, and an archery range. Accommodations include over 200 RV sites with full hookups, restrooms and showers, primitive campsites and unfurnished one-room lake huts. Playgrounds, picnic tables and a swim beach are on site. Indian gaming casino located nearby. The Little Axe campground is a fee area.
