Newport's Hawthorne House was constructed in 2002 and designed especially to accommodate guests. Universal design concepts, which include a single story layout and other accessible features, make this residence friendly to all. Your privacy is assured as we accept just one reservation at a time – in other words, you will be our only guests. Situated with a southeastern exposure, the suite is sunny and welcoming. Its arrangement and amenities make it ideal for a wide variety of travelers. For example, those seeking privacy and relaxation appreciate the separate foyer entrance, spacious deck, and whirlpool bath. Business travelers favor the “always on” high speed Internet access, living room, and private telephone. Parents are pleased to find that it is simply not possible for their children to disturb other guests. Their children will enjoy the cable televisions, VCRs, playground, and family beach. We provide a generous continental breakfast in your suite – to enjoy at your leisure and on your schedule. Located in Newport's south end, Hawthorne House is convenient to the downtown area as well as Cliff Walk, Fort Adams State Park, the Ocean Drive, and the famous Bellevue Avenue mansions. Nearby attractions include a city park with tennis courts, children's playground, and family-friendly beach.
The suite contains a fully furnished queen bedroom, a separate living room with queen sofa bed and a dining table for four. A nicely appointed mini-kitchenette includes a microwave, sink, coffee maker, refrigerator/freezer, and toaster. The bathroom features a jetted tub and shower. French doors open onto the deck, where comfortable seating and a gas grill invites you to organize an easy summer supper. The suite is air-conditioned in the summer and is zoned separately for winter warmth. A large circular drive provides ample off-street parking. You will find all of the necessities – iron and ironing board, hair dryer, beach towels and chairs, grill implements, kitchenware, condiments and spices, linens, and other needed supplies. Cable televisions, VCR's, and Internet access is also provided.
