DO NOT STAY AT THIS CAMPGROUND. Bearcamp River campground is not a good place to stay at all, it is far away from much to do, not convienent and they are liars! This is a small campground that people bought and are ripping people off to make money. Granted i feel bad the owner is an older woman but this place was unbelievable. It is packed full their are people that live their full time in trailers so u dont really get the campground atmosphere, but lets get down the real reason you SHOULD NOT STAY HERE!

First Impression: I called to make arrangments for labor day weekend, 3 days. I had called about 45 campgrounds, all full. So finally i call Bearcamp River Campground and speak to a nice lady who gave me a GREAT first impression, very friendly and nice and easy to understand, she told me about the campground( lies) She let me know that their was an amazing river right at the campground we could kayak in, and that I would LOVE my site, exact words. Now i was looking on the map online at their website and i said "well the site looks a little close to the playground, will we have privacy" and she said "oh yes its VEry very far away, you will be very happy with your site Andrea all our sites are very wooded and private" So i was excited and happy.

The Sites: Friday came and we packed up and got their at 9:30 at night our site was about 5 feet from the playground and their were about 3 tiny trees inbetween our site and the playground so we luckily brought 2 cars and could pull up closely to eachother and that one side and block off the view of the kids running around and playing with our vehicles. Not only that but the other side was not private either we could see every other site and the people staying there so closely that we could probably tell what color eyes they had (i'm kidding but they were very close) Not only that but, when your roughin it camping and 2:00 a.m comes around and you gotta pee and the nearest bathroom is a 5 minute drive, you go in the woods right? No luck here because there was no privacy no tree or secluded area enough anywhere to go pee even behind a tree. We had to make a little section with a tarp (luckily we had one) in order to have a bit of privacy to pee! Not only that but for that site, crowded and terrible and loud and noisy, we pad $102.00 for the weekend! Thats crazy. We would have packed up and said the hell with it but they wouldn't refund our money! And bring firewood because they charge up the A** for that as well. And dont try to find kindeling in the woods because there are NO WOODS. Not to mention the view.
View: We had a lovely view of the back of a smoke house across a highway, mcdonalds, and a subway. We had stopped at the sub way the next day for lunch, and looked across the river bed and saw our tent! Not to mention this was not a good kayaking river like promised, tree's and stumps in the way and there was only about 2-5 inches of water in most spots.
Quiet Time: I hope you dont care about the rules because NO ONE follows them it was loud and noisy all night and the next morning i woke up at 7:00 A.m to my neighbors BLASTING Tim mcgraw and Faith Hill duets. Dogs barking and its so close to you its like the dogs in your tent with you. Bottom line, this place rips you off, the sites are terrible, the location is terrible, the price is terrible, the river is terrible, the road to it is terrible.

STAY AWAY FROM BEARRIVER CAMPGROUND. They lied to us to get us there and knew we were stuck on a holiday weekend, so they lied to us and charged us up the ass. All in all the best time we had that weekend was when we took our kayak an hour 1/2 away and took a trip down the pemi, the farther you are from this campground the better!
