If you like rock-hard beds, you are going to be in for a treat. For the rest of us it made for a very uncomfortable night. For over $500 a night for a room, we just expected better. The Deluxe Resort View turned out to be the view upon a concrete flat roof with vents / or some other roof utilities as "view" highlights. As far as your eyes went, nothing but concrete flat roof. I expressed my disappointment to the front desk and was "upgraded" to a parking lot view. Well, at least there were some trees.

Upon checking into the "upgraded" room, I put all my toiletries up in the small bathroom and one of my toiletry items fell to the floor. The light reflected just nicely on all the "drippings" around the toilet. Some messy kids and / or adults obviously had some less than desirable toilet habits. I was so grossed out, but we had driven for hours to get to this hotel, had already moved rooms before and were ready to hit the sheets. Previously warned by my husband about the hard bed, I buffered myself with lots of pillows underneath my body to prevent any physical bruising. It was a bumpy and uncomfortable night for sure and during the night I was wishing we were back in our comfortable bed less than 2 hours from this hotel. But we liked the area (Naples) and my husband said that it would be difficult to get another hotel room given that it was Valentine's weekend, so we stayed for the second night we had booked. The next day didn't go much better, unfortunately. The maid didn’t turn up as requested. The hotel provides a form for guests to fill in when they want maid service. We requested it for between 10 and 11 and put the card out in the evening. However, when we came back in the afternoon, the room was still not done. We headed back out and rented some bikes and took a fun 15 mile ride through Naples. After that, we needed a second shower. Unfortunately, there was no shower cap, which I needed for my long hair. I called "Room Service". The person answering put me through to "House Keeping" and I got a voice message that "House Keeping" wasn't available. I felt jerked around. "Room Service" should not have put me through to voicemail, but should have simply "gotten it done." How difficult is it to drop by a shower cap? Meanwhile, I stood there wrapped up in a towel waiting for the shower cap.

Since cleanliness wasn't high on their list of priorities, I checked the water glasses before using them. It was a good thing, too. Very well defined finger prints and smears were all over the glasses.

The quality of the room was no better than that of a Holiday Inn. The only thing that this hotel has going for it is the location. It's about 1 mile from the most popular street in Naples (5th Avenue), where everything is happening. Lots of restaurants and pubs, designer stores -- and it ends right on the beach! However, there are many hotels near the 5th. In fact, I checked with one resort called Naples Bay Resort which is actually CLOSER to all the fun activities and we would have gotten a One Bedroom VILLA plus champagne and strawberries – and I am so sick that we paid over $500 (including taxes) for one Holiday Inn style room and poor service. The staff was generally courteous -- except for the server this morning whose job "dissatisfaction" was well reflected on his face. We felt like apologizing for our mere presence. My usually well-natured husband was cranky from loss of sleep and wasn't happy about the coffee either, which we both needed badly. It was a huge disappointment for us as we didn't get good value for our money.
