Southfork Bed & Breakfast, Cody, Wyoming

Our home is a 12-acre horse property and the former estate of the late Anne McClure, a well liked, and colorful resident of Cody. Anne designed and built her “dream home” and incorporated many custom features and amenities, perhaps more amenities than any other home. The house started out in 1979 as an ordinary 3-bedroom split level home and under went 10 years of remodeling and new construction. The finished house boasted an outdoor swimming pool, indoor lap pool, spa, tanning bed, huge great room with custom made green marble bar, mossy rock fireplace, ceiling mounted projector for the theater, cherry wood kitchen, dog kennels, and an entire new wing was added to the house which contained a guest bedroom and new master bedroom/apartment. Ironically, Anne didn’t get to enjoy the dream house she created for long, as a severe ”horse wreck”(cowboy lingo for accident) left her unable to navigate the house’s multiple levels. Your hosts Donna and Brian Lloyd purchased this property with the intention of opening the house as a bed and breakfast operation. Remodeling, restoration, and upgrades are ongoing.

Our ranch may be small but our home isn’t. The house has a total of 8,000 square feet of living space with separate guest wing, residential wing, and common areas of the kitchen, dining area, great room, bar, and theater. The open floor plan of the common areas give the house more of an atmosphere of a guest ranch or lodge rather then that of a bed and breakfast. Our plans for this summer will hopefully include the re-activation of the indoor fitness center. The redwood-lined complex features an Olympic style 75 foot lap pool, spa, and exercise area. The house is decorated with Ranch and Mission furniture, Western art, Indian artifacts, and Western memorabilia. This is not your typical bed and breakfast!

Our guest rooms are located in a separate wing of the house with a private TV room and ready access to kitchen, dining room, and great room. The rooms are decorated with Western art, Indian artifacts, Mission furniture, stained glass lighting and queen sized log canopy beds with best quality box springs and mattresses and the addition of a down mattress, Hudson’s Bay blankets are always available for cold nights. Each room is individually heat zone controlled for your comfort.
