Poindexter Park Inn Bed & Breakfast, Jackson, Mississippi
Don't miss blues in Mississippi! Learn about vintage & current blues at my funky house, Poindexter Park Inn. PPI is tucked away in one of Jackson's oldest neighborhoods and near live blues most nights. You may meet singer Dorothy Moore, known for Misty Blue. Ask about roadtrips to find blues sites and the self guided Farish St tour. Monday arrivals might catch King Edward live at Blue Monday or on Saturday see the real deal at Queen of Hearts. Since 1994, PPI has served guests at the restored property located on the estate of the state's 2nd governor, George Poindexter who wrote the MS State Code. You can see state code book at the top of his grave marker at Greenwood Cemetery and visit Pulitzer Winner, Eudora Welty's site.
PPI's five guest rooms are near exhibits, capitol city sites, shopping, businesses and colleges. Blues, blueberry muffins and brass beds await guests. Rooms have ceiling fans, private baths, and of course AC! Free parking is available. A smoke free inn, guests find provisions for smokers on porches. Bicycle support from the Natchez Trace is offered. Old maps, signs, records, instruments and photo's of Mississippi artists adorn the walls along with posters and original art. The restoration of the circa 1907 house received the Heritage Award of Merit for Residential Historic Architecture in 1997.
There are 5 guest accommodations each with private bath.
