Nestled in 5 acres of beautiful wooded and pastoral countryside this charming 130 year old, two-story Victorian Farmhouse has much to offer: serenity, Southern hospitality, scrumptious breakfasts to start the day and a convenient location to all attractions and sights of the area. Truly a piece of Tennessee history this home is named after its builder Joseph Kennedy Marshall who spent 16 months as a Confederate prisoner in Rock Island Prison and married Cornelia McPhail German after his return home in 1865. The house was built on the 40 acres of land that Cornelia inherited upon her marriage to Joseph Kennedy.
Delicious and plentiful breakfasts are served either in the formal dining room or - weather permitting - outside on one of the terraces. All breakfast dishes are prepared from scratch and often are a result of the "cook's whim". The Old Marshall House French Toast Creation with Peach Compote or the Hearty Hashbrown Quiche for example have become favorites among guests.
Beautiful, spacious and individually decorated guest accommodations including an 1850's log cabin offer queen and king size beds with downcomforters or featherbeds to ensure a good night's sleep and cozy fireplaces for cool evenings. All rooms have private baths (two with oversized clawfooted tubs big enough for two people!) and comfortable sitting areas.
