A casually elegant stay awaits you in this magnificent, spacious brick and brownstone Queen Anne located near the center of historic Hanover, Pennsylvania. Built in 1902, the home features numerous stained glass windows, inlaid oak floors and paneling, ceilings with beams, carved limestone and marble mantles, and a bright, airy ambiance. Although surrounded by pastoral Amish farms and charming scenery, Hanover is convenient to both the Washington beltway (1 1/2 hours) and the Baltimore beltway (1 hour). We offer six comfortable guest suites, each with a private bath. Our spacious sunroom, living room, and dining room, which are interconnected by the grand foyer, provide ample floor space and flexibility for meetings, small group dining and activities. Wireless internet is available throughout the facility while the meditation room, and contemplation garden serve to help our guests relax in a tranquil atmosphere of peace and beauty.
This makes our facility ideal for a weekend retreat from city living. In addition to welcoming individual guests, we are well suited to provide accommodations for small corporate and group retreats.
Shining Dawn Bed and Breakfast Retreat Center offers six comfortable guest rooms, providing quiet respite from the busy world. Several of our guest rooms can be configured into two- or three-room suites ideal for families or small groups. Please call us for details. Each suite is tastefully decorated and adjoins a private bathroom. Elegant, unique ceiling light fixtures transform the night into a warm welcoming atmosphere with accents of stained glass, crystal, and ornate metal. When the lights are out, our new Sealy Posturepedic Plush mattresses will help our guests to sleep well, and awaken refreshed.
All Guest Rooms are individually air conditioned and have internet connectivity through our wireless network. Rates are double occupancy and include a full breakfast. Many of the rooms have additional sleeping capacity at the rate of $25 per each additional guest per night. Although our first floor meeting areas have wheelchair accessibility, all guest rooms are located on the second floor and require the use of stairs. Rates do not include tax.
