Marriott Barony Beach Club, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
The city of Hilton Head will be undertaking a beach renourishment project during the autumn of 2006. This project will start in September on the beach in Port Royal Plantation by the Westin hotel and move south. The active area being worked on will be approximately one thousand yards wide across the beach. This area will be closed to all foot and boat traffic. The pace will be about 150-200 yards south along the beach per day. The work will continue rain or shine twenty-four hours. Engine noise will be minimal, but guests will hear the back-up beepers that OSHA requires on all major equipment. The noise will be continuous throughout the project.
