This Federal sea captain's home was built in 1830 in the town of Eastham, gateway to the Cape Cod National Seashore.
There are sixteen very special accomodations located in five buildings on a three acre compound of lawns, gardens and meadows. Each is beautifully decorated and appointed with a mix of four poster beds and country antiques. All are air conditioned, most have fireplaces and some have whirlpool baths for two. An imaginative full breakfast is served each morning, refreshments and complimentary hors d'oeuvres are set out each evening. The inn is only minutes by car from beaches, the bike path, whalewatching, shops and restaurants.

Guests can walk the 'Outer Cape' beaches, listening to the soothing sound of the waves lapping on Cape Cod Bay or crashing at the National Seashore. Partake in some of the finest dining that the Cape has to offer, beginning here each day with a gourmet breakfast served to you at your own private table. The inn was built in 1830 for Henry Harding, a renowned whaling captain. In the early nineteen hundreds, it became a gentleman's farm, known as Whalewalk Farm. With a cow and horse still living in what is now the Salt Box Cottage, the farm was purchased in 1953 and turned into an inn. Since that time it has been authentically restored and creatively redecorated. The common rooms are filled with the Innkeeper's extensive Waterford Crystal collection, 19th century country antiques from England and France, fresh flowers, and oriental rugs for a warm welcome to start your stay.
Awaken to the aroma of fresh brewed coffee, sizzling bacon, one of our many delightful pastry items, and a different entrée every day. Dietary needs are no problem, if we know in advance. View the gardens on our bricked patio while enjoying your first meal of the day. On those cooler days, breakfast can be enjoyed on our Farmer's porch or in the dining room.
After a day of exploring, bicycling, swimming, and shopping, end your afternoon with an in-room massage to remove any tensions that you brought to the Cape. Book your date and time when you make your room reservations. Or, take time out to enjoy nature from the view in the gazebo. Join the innkeepers for a hors d'oeuvre hour, and decide which restaurant best suits your mood for the day.
Each of our sixteen bed and breakfast rooms and suites has been individually decorated and appointed with our guests' comfort in mind. The guest rooms are located in five buildings on a peaceful 3 1/4 acre haven. All lodgings have private baths and are air conditioned. In-room amenities include hair dryers, alarm clock radios and irons. More romantic inn accommodations have fireplaces, oversize whirlpool tubs, TV/VCR, telephones, refrigerators and stocked pantries for in-room coffee and tea service. We also have bicycles available at the Inn, and we have provision for the storage of guest bikes.
