Built between 1903 and 1907 for a wealthy Englishman by craftsmen and artisans drawn from around the world, The Manor on Golden Pond has been called the "Outstanding Inn of New Hampshire - One of the Nation's Best" by Frommer's New England Guide. Today its hospitality is as notable as its panoramic views of Squam Lake and the surrounding mountains, thanks to the personal ministrations of its new owners/innkeepers, who purchased the inn in 1999.

Built in the style of an English Manor House, the Manor offers a variety of elegant accommodations, most with wood-burning fireplaces and views, several with oversized whirlpools, and all with private baths, air conditioning, televisions and telephones. Family cottages available May through November.
The Manor on Golden Pond offers tennis, croquet, badminton, and more on the 14 acre estate. Swim in the pool or in Squam Lake at the Manor's private beach across the road from the Manor House. Canoe, fish or simply savor the tranquility of the Lake from the Manor's boathouse.
With names like Devon and Cornwall, our guestrooms at the Manor On Golden Pond reflect the relaxed elegance you'd expect at an English country estate. Each spacious and individually decorated guestroom is designed to accommodate two adults. There's an air of romance, too; most rooms have wood-burning fireplaces, where the fire is always laid, and view; while some include a whirlpool tub for two.
