Built as a humble farmhouse at the time of the Civil War, the Gatehouse is now attractively renovated as a refuge from the pressure and pace of Washington less than 2 hours away.

Here, you can relax with your loved ones in the solitude of your own house, where your kids can play in the woods, meadow and creek, where you can add to your bird list, where your pets can romp in the field.

The Gatehouse is rented as a unit to one group only. It sits on 27 acres, bordered by historic Sleepy Creek, at the foot of Sleepy Creek Mountain. It's an easy 6 miles to Berkeley Springs with its many fine restaurants, 1950s-era movie theater, and unique arts, crafts, and antique shops.

The Gatehouse offers a quiet, relaxing place to get away from it all,

refresh your spirit, and adjust your perspective.

The Gatehouse's 3 bedrooms accommodate 6 to 8 comfortably. Two bedrooms are upstairs, each have 2 twin beds. One bedroom also has a day bed which turns into 2 additional twin beds. The master bedroom is downstairs with a queen-sized bed and an adjoining bath.

The house has two full baths, kitchen with full-sized refrigerator and stove, microwave, coffee maker, utensils, pots, dishes, etc., living room with gas fireplace, dining room, two screened-in porches and an additional breakfast porch.

For your comfort, summer and winter, the house has two window air conditioners, a ceiling fan on the porch, a gas fireplace, and central heat.

A VCR and an assortment of games, puzzles, and books are provided. The hosts have an excellent and varied collection of videos which may be borrowed. Also available is a gas grill for outdoor cookouts.

Linens and towels are furnished, but meals and daily housekeeping are on your own.
