Stone Soup Inn, Indianapolis, Indiana
Built in 1901, The Stone Soup Inn is an impressive example of Colonial Revival architecture. After its heyday as a residence, the house fell into a period of disrepair and was used as a rooming house and later as a seminary dormitory.
In 1977, the Bourke family saved it from the wrecking ball and the house underwent twenty years of intensive renovation. In respect of their contribution the door knocker still bears their name. On July 31, 1996, Jeneane Life bought the house and set in motion her plan to open The Stone Soup Inn.
