Englishman's Bed and Breakfast, Cherryfield, Maine
Now open in Downeast Maine, the Englishman's Bed and Breakfast is located in the historic Archibald-Adams House on Main Street, Cherryfield. Originally built in 1793, this Federal-style home was renovated and restored to museum quality in the 1990s, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Englishman's Bed and Breakfast has a beautiful setting on the bank of the Narraguagus River, a once noted Salmon/Trout River in the tidewater village of Cherryfield, Maine. At the front of the house, a formal perennial flower garden is underway. Beyond the lawn and semi-circular driveway is a screened-in gazebo and a kitchen garden, with raised beds and other plantings including grapes, raspberries and other fruit trees. Below the house, along the river there is a wilderness area where bald eagles often perch in the trees.
