Welcome to The Ridgeway Inn in downtown Bar Harbor, Maine's historic area. This century-old Victorian home is set in a quiet tree-lined residential neighborhood, conveniently located near shops, restaurants, the sea, and Acadia National Park. The Ridgeway was built in 1884 and restored in 1994. Hospitality in an Elegant Setting. The aged stone walls and bright flower-lined yard invite you inside to hardwood floors, fireplaces with ornate mantles, lace curtains set in bow windows, and a sprinkling of antiques, including a working pump organ. This elegant setting embodies the genuine hospitality that we extend to each guest.

To get to The Ridgeway Inn, please take Route 3 from Ellsworth toward Bar Harbor until you come to a stop sign (approximately 18 miles). Turn left on Mt. Desert Street (which is still Route 3) and take your third left onto High Street.

Our guestrooms are uniquely named for the "cottages" of wealthy summer residents of days gone by. Their homes were destroyed by the fire of 1947 or were demolished after they fell to ruin. But their legacy lives on...

Greenway Court - is a perfect "honeymoon retreat" created with romance in mind. This large room decorated in green tones offers a king size bed, wicker furnished sitting area, and natural wide-plank pine floors. The enticing bathroom boasts a two-person Jacuzzi, a pedestal sink, and a separate shower. This is our most frequently requested room.

Schooner Head - A nautical theme prevails in this wine and ivory room with a queen size bed and its own access to a side deck. Open the door and listen to the whispers of the surrounding maple trees and scent of the fresh ocean air.

Stanwood - Tucked away under the eaves, this blue and white room with handsome stripes, oriental accents, queen size bed, and carpeting creates a sheltered feeling. Sleep the night away in your own little world.

Birch Point Suite. Recline in the settee and enjoy this light-filled two-room suite with wicker furniture, queen size bed, hardwood floors, and a built-in bookcase. This suite is perfect for longer stays.

Rose Briar - Satisfy your Victorian pleasures with hardwood floors, scattered hooked rugs, white cast iron queen size bed and wicker touches. The soft tones and floral comforter fosters dreamy tranquility
