The Cornucopia at Oldfield is Southbury's premier bed and breakfast. The 'Oldfield' house has been a landmark in the community since John Moseley built it in 1818. An exceptional example of Georgian Federal architecture, Cornucopia at Oldfield is set on acres of rolling green lawns framed by towering sugar and Norway maples and original stone walls. The home in Southbury's Historic District, is listed in the National Register of Historic places and has been published in various works, including Wallace Nutting's "Connecticut Beautiful." It is alive with history and provides its guests with many wonderful surprises such as the hand painted picture of the house on the hidden "preacher's cupboard" door.
Innkeepers Christine and Ed Edelson bring the magic of Oldfield to life for their guests. Guests look forward to relaxing in the comfortable setting of the Keeping Room, parlor, or one of the exquisitely furnished guest rooms, walking around the grounds or sitting by the private swimming pool.
