The Danforth, Portland, Maine

For nearly two centuries, travelers have enjoyed the gracious atmosphere and peaceful comfort of The Danforth. The inn features nine rooms and suites designed by John Calvin Stevens (1855-1940), noted Colonial Revival architect and an originator of New England’s classic Shingle Style. (Stevens designed artist Winslow Homer’s famous home, too, just up the coast.)
