Sunset Cabins, Jefferson, Maine
Sunset Cabins are located in midcoast Maine in the village of Jefferson, north of the town of Damariscotta and about 6 miles off Route 1. The lake area is 4, 625 acres, maximum depth is 114 feet. We fish for salmon, lake trout, smallmouth bass, white perch, yellow perch, smelt, pickerel, alewife and eel. You may want to take excursions to Boothbay and Camden, visit the Pemaquid and Owls Head lighthouses, eat lobster right off the boat in New Harbor, and drive to Freeport to shop at L.L. Bean and other famous outlet stores. It takes about 2.5 hours to get to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, but it's well worth a day's trip.

The cabins are original Maine Camps from the 1930's-- the heyday of sporting camps and fishing lodges. They are situated on the eastern shore of Damariscotta Lake, secluded from tourist traps. They blend well among the setting of old pines and white birches. The original structures have been converted into housekeeping cottages with present-day amenities while retaining their rustic charm. They have fully equipped kitchens, living/dining areas with wood-burning stoves, up to three bedrooms and full baths with claw-footed bathtubs and a large outdoor shower. Large screened-in porches with picnic tables and lounging chairs overlook the Great Bay of the16-mile long lake and the western horizon with its spectacular sunsets over wooded hills.
