Nellie Littlefield House, Ogunquit, Maine
The year was 1889. J.H. Littlefield had just completed the grand Victorian House on Shore Road for his first wife, Nellie. "The Town of Ogunquit was becoming better known every year, and despite increased accommodations, was filled to capacity. Mr. J.H. Littlefield was one of the pioneers of the cottage business, and besides renting his own cottages and studios, a dozen or more, he also rented for other people. Those who passed a summer at the Littlefield House were sure to return again with friends. An elegant house with piazza space, it was also convenient to the bathing beach and the center of town." Welcome to the recreation of that wonderful house, and with it perhaps those wonderful times. Be it a walk on the Marginal Way, the inimitable seascape, the trolley to Perkins Cove, a potpourri of delightful treasures, lobster dining- a maritime monopoly, do everything or do nothing. Let us help make it memorable.
