Make The J.J. Shaw House, located in Boise's historic North End, your "home away from home."Six beautiful guest rooms, all with private baths, phones, and air conditioning. Listed on the "National Register of Historic Places". This truly distinctive Queen Anne Victorian was built in 1907 by Mr. John James Shaw for his family. Mr. Shaw was the proprietor of the Hawkeye Lumber Co. and as a builder he constructed a home worthy to stand the test of time. A handsome three-story brick and sandstone residence, the J.J. Shaw House is accented throughout with original leaded glass and interesting bay windows. Architectural details reminiscent of the 1900's include the exterior and interior use of columns, decorative moldings and French doors. Located in the quiet, yet convenient Northend, J.J. Shaws is within walking distance to fine restaurants and Hyde Park. Boise State University and The Pavilion are just minutes away. As Idaho's state capital, Boise is the center of governmental activities, and numerous corporations are headquartered here. Quality theatrical productions, concerts and sporting events afford a wide array of year-round entertainment.

John's Study - This Room is divided into three rooms by French doors; A sleeping porch with queen bed, a study area with desk and twin sleeper chair, and a private bath with jetted tub/shower; perfect after a long day.
Muriel's Room - A queen size sleigh bed amid greens and burgundy, and a lace enclosed, "in-room" shower provide a cozy hideaway to relax and unwind in. Lovely garden views through oversized windows.
Gertrude's Chamber - A garden of roses surround the four posted queen bed. Nestled in the bay window, the antique claw foot tub is enclosed by a shower of lace curtains...beautiful and inviting.
Elizabeth's Suite - The four posted queen bed and in-room vanity are enhanced by panoramic views through original leaded windows. This spacious room includes a private shower.
Shaw's Retreat - Private stairs lead to this 3rd floor suite. The elegantly draped king bed, sitting/dining areas, skylights/bay windows, make extended stays pleasurable. The bath affords an oversized double shower. Shaw's Retreat is ideal for your special celebration.
Cottage - Our garden tree lined path leads to this private, yet separate guest Cottage. French doors, large windows and vaulted ceiling with two skylights make the Cottage bright and inviting. You have the king bed or two twin beds. The private bath has jetted tub/shower unit. Kitchenette includes microwave, small refrigerator and sitting area includes a TV and VCR.
