In the summer, the Outpost bursts with fabulous wildflowers and gardens. Guests put our horseshoes, volleyball, putting green, and open fire pit to good use. The hammock by our babbling brook is perfect for naps and reading. Summer sends guests to Pole Creek Golf Course just around the corner or to music festivals, the rodeo, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, boating, horseback riding, river rafting and kayaking, or off exploring Rocky Mountain National Park! BY CAR: We are 76 miles west of Denver. Travel along 1-70 heading west out of Denver. Seven miles west of Idaho Springs, exit at Mile 232 for US Highway 40 going over Berthoud Pass. Drive past Mary Jane and Winter Park ski area entrances. Continue through the town of Fraser. One-half mile beyond Fraser, look for the first two streetlights, NOT traffic lights, where you'll turn left onto Country Road 5 heading straight west. Go 2 miles more and turn left onto Country Road 517. Go another 1/2 mile and we are on the right side of the road. Enjoy the beautiful mountains and meadows as you are driving along!
