Stratford House Inn, Bar Harbor, Maine

Welcome to The Stratford House Inn, one of the few remaining summer "cottages" that exemplify the grand and elegant life of Bar Harbor at the turn of the century.

Built in 1900 by the noted Boston book publisher Lewis A. Roberts, The Stratford House Inn is styled with the romantic charm of an English Tudor Manor. The Inn boasts ten beautifully decorated bedrooms, each with its own individual charm and style. In the morning guests are treated to a continental breakfast in the elegant dining room, replete with original period furnishings. After the days' events, find evening relaxation with a book in th Library, interesting conversation on our large veranda, or try your hand at the grand piano in the Music Room.

The Stratford House Inn is located on historic Mount Desert Street and affords easy walking to the fine shops and restaurants of downtown Bar Harbor. Frenchman's Bay and the town pier are only minutes from the steps of the Inn where one may take a Sightseeing or Whale Watching cruise or enjoy a leisurely walk along Bar Harbor's historic Shore Path.
