Stay in our Seattle bed and breakfast, and enjoy the charm and comfort of yesterday, with all the convenience of today. Shields of red and white can be seen on the round stained glass windows as one passes through the gates of the Bacon Mansion – the leading bed and breakfast in Seattle, Washington. Built in 1909 by Cecil Bacon on Seattle's Capitol Hill, this classic Edwardian-style Tudor shows not only the trademark family crest, but a fine preservation of original woods, chandelier with 3,000 crystals, marble fireplaces, and a treasured library. Located in the Historical Harvard-Belmont Landmark District, most of the original floor plan and exterior has been retained. The main Guest House, consisting of 8,000 square feet of living space, is divided between four levels. A spacious outside patio leads to the historic Carriage House. The Mansion's guest rooms are available nightly, as well as the "day rooms," which are available for social and business events. Along with delicious breakfasts, which include a potpourri of cereals, muffins and delicacies, catered lunches, dinners and receptions are also available.
We like to say that we are close enough to everything, yet far enough away. We have a great central location, just two blocks from the Broadway shopping and restaurant district here on Capitol Hill. We consider it an urban forest with great architectural variety. Volunteer Park is just a couple of blocks up the hill, with a water tower that offers a great view after climbing only 114 steps, and it is $16 cheaper than the Space Needle or free.
The Bacon Mansion has 11 stately guest rooms, ranging from a cozy hideaway to a spacious suite. All accommodations at our inn are furnished with cotton waffle cloth robes, hair dryers, clock radio, cable television, water and wine glasses, corkscrew, two-inch wood Venetian blinds, down comforter, glycerin soap, conditioning shampoo, telephone. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property at no additional charge. We are confident that the comfort, quality, and service at the Bacon Mansion will make you glad that you didn’t pick a chain hotel to stay in while in Seattle.
