Hoods In The Woods B&B, Vanderbilt, Michigan

The original "cabin" was started in 1954 and constructed by the owner. Logs were cut by hand from the property. Necessary milling was completed at a nearby sawmill. All cobblestones used in the massive fireplace were collected by hand. Although the "cabin" has been remodeled several times, the original interior logwork and fireplace remain unchanged. It was originally designed and built as a hunting and ski lodge. Nature and wildlife abound in this quiet and secluded woodland setting.

A hearty Northern Michigan breakfast is included for all that can make it to the dining room by 9:00 A.M. Depending on the season, you can expect fruit, tasty egg dishes, French toast, pancakes or some other delectable surprise. You might even enjoy homemade wild red raspberry preserves and maple syrup. The early riser will find the coffee ready by seven. You might want to take a cup out to the porch or deck and enjoy the serenity and view limited only to our guests.

Hoods in the Woods offers two bedrooms, a sitting room and a bathroom in a suite reserved exclusively for our guests. One bedroom overlooks beautiful Huffman Lake and the other has a view of a brook and woods. A separate entrance and stairway has been provided for guest use to the second floor accommodations.

The lakeview room has a double bed and two twin beds. The brookview room has a twin-bedded kingsize bed. Both are smoke free as is the rest of the Inn. Rooms can be rented separately or as a suite.
