High in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western Virginia is located a haven of natural beauty called the Sugar Tree. Set on twenty-eight wooded acres at 2800 feet, near the village of Steeles Tavern, Virginia's Sugar Tree Mountain Inn is a place of peace and solitude.

Sugar Tree's spring blossoms with trillium, rhododendron, mountain laurel and dogwood; summer brings brilliant days and cool nights, while fall dazzles with the yellows, rusts and scarlets of our own hardwood forest. We are home to woodpeckers and hawks, chipmunks, raccoons and deer.

Relax from the moment you arrive. Pick a rocker, or soak in our hot tub and enjoy the 40 mile view while the quiet soothes away your workaday stress. Follow a hummingbird from the porch feeders to the dogwoods below. As evening falls, enjoy a spectacular sunset and then marvel at the stars as night encompasses the mountains.

Enjoy the rustic elegance and the individual personality of your room or suite. Chairs by the fire, wonderfully comfortable beds with country quilts, personally controlled heating/air conditioning and private baths welcome you in every room. Some rooms indulge you further with whirlpool tubs, ceiling fans, VCRs (and video tapes), separate sitting rooms and outside decks for relaxing on a sunny afternoon.

Before you turn in, perhaps you would like to stargaze while relaxing in our hot tub on the mountainside deck. Then stoke up the fire and pull up a chair. Dive into a book from our eclectic upstairs library or choose a game to play. When you start to nod, climb into bed for the unbroken sleep that comes so effortlessly in the mountains.
