We welcome you to a special place. The Woodbox Inn offers the perfect atmosphere for your island vacation from early spring through New Year's Day.

Built as a private residence by ship captain George Bunker in 1709, the Woodbox Inn became a gracious inn at the turn of the century. Now the oldest inn on the island, the Woodbox offers you a warm blend of modern comforts and authentic antique charm. Each of nine guest rooms/suites has its own special character. Some of our rooms have canopy beds and fireplaces, and all are delightfully furnished with antiques and period reproductions.

Because the inn is located in Nantucket's historic district, our guests are only a few moments' walk from Main Street. Nearby are boutiques, sandy beaches, museums, art galleries, and antique shops. Most are within walking distance. Ride a bike or shuttle to the beach, visit historic 'Sconset at the east end of the island, or go whale watching. At the end of the day enjoy a libation and conversation on our patio before dinner.

All nine rooms have private baths. Some with refrigerators and phones. All suites have working fireplaces. Breakfast is not included in the rate
