Raccoon Mountain Caverns is located just outside of Chattanooga (TN) in the Black Creek area of Lookout Valley. We invite you to tour our vast cave system, pan for gemstones, enjoy the thrill of a go-kart ride, or relax by a camp fire while taking in the spectacular views of both Lookout Mountain and Raccoon Mountain.
Our park is open year-round and is located at the base of Raccoon Mountain just 1.3 miles off of Interstate 24 at the Lookout Valley exit (#174). Our location is ideal if you want great views of both Raccoon and Lookout Mountains, close proximity to area attractions, and an 'easy off / easy on' exit that does not have much traffic. Most importantly, we are at the end of a well-maintained county road and our interior roads were designed to accommodate large RV's.
Raccoon Mountain RV Park & Campground is the closest (and we believe best) campground to the area's major attractions: Tennessee Aquarium, Lookout Mountain, Southern Belle Riverboat, IMAX Theater, and downtown Chattanooga. We are adjacent to Raccoon Mountain Caverns and are just one mile from the TVA Raccoon Mountain Facility along the Tennessee River.
Raccoon Mountain RV Park and Campground is the Chattanooga area's premiere full-service campground. We can accommodate anyone from a tent camper to the largest motor home complete with tow vehicle. Our clean facilities, great mountain views, and close location to downtown and area attractions makes it the ideal choice for your stay. We also have four 'camping cabins' for those individuals who do not own an RV or wish to tent camp but who otherwise enjoy the camping experience.
Raccoon Mountain is just seven minutes from historical downtown Chattanooga, the Chattanooga Choo-Choo, the Tennessee Aquarium, and less than five minutes away from Lookout Mountain. Be sure to stop by and visit with us while in the Chattanooga area as we are just 1.3 miles off of I-24 at Exit #174 (Lookout Valley). There is always plenty of free parking.
At the far edge of the property, but still within walking distance to both the cave entrance and campground is Raccoon Mountain Fun Park. The park consists of Chattanooga's newest go-kart track and a batting cage complex. Choose from single or twin seat NASKarts powered by the quietest engines in their class. Drivers must be 54' tall but shorter individuals may ride as a passenger in a twin seat kart.
