Durango Mountain Resort, formerly known as Purgatory, is one of Durango's local ski areas. It is located approximately 25 miles north of town. Purgatory offers lots of great terrain for skiers, snowboarders and winter enthusiasts. It has a vertical rise of 2029 fun filled feet with ten great lifts including one high speed quad and one high speed 6 man chairlift.
