If your journey brings you to Vermont during the winter months for skiing, horse drawn sleigh rides or skating on a village pond, you can be assured you will create memories of a lifetime here. Imagine falling asleep to the sound of a crackling wood burning fire and awakening to the crispness of fresh fallen snow.
During summer, the Inn takes on a completely different appearance. Expansive well trimmed lawns and lovely perennial gardens draw your attention to the beauty of our location. Here at Juniper Hill you can look out over a private lake, watch Mt. Ascutney's breezes play through our towering pines or simply relax on our comfortable Adirondack furniture. Stroll in nearby Paradise Park and return for a refreshing dip in our pool.
The surrounding countryside will no doubt lure you away from time to time and each turn of the road will present yet another beautiful photographic opportunity. Take the day exploring the beautiful Upper Connecticut River Valley and its unspoiled charms.
When you first arrive at Juniper Hill Inn you win be impressed by the mansion's powerful silhouette atop our namesake hill. Before you tour the grounds and explore the area please come inside and greet the innkeepers - after all, this will be your home away from home and we are well prepared to make your stay pleasant and comfortable.
Not many homes have a 30' by 40' great hall with floor to ceiling fireplace, English honey oak paneling and a 5' by 15' massive table in their gathering room. Despite its grand size, the great hall has many intimate places to carry on private conversations.
Before visiting your room, feel free to explore the remainder of the ground floor. A gentleman's sitting parlor with fireplace is the ideal place for a pre-dinner cocktail or a congenial place to meet fellow travelers.
The library is the logical place for quiet intimate conversation or to challenge your abilities at Scrabble. Take your pick, there are lots of games and time seems to stand still in this wonderful old room tucked into the West wing of our house. The library is so isolated you may have to be shown how to find it but once there you may never wish to leave.
The dining room is as romantic as any you will find in New England. Deep burgundy walls with Waverly window treatments compliment the hand carved floor to ceiling wood burning fireplace. Intricate moldings, candles and classical music playing softly in t he background offer the perfect setting for a delicious ever changing menu of New England country cuisine. What a wonderful culmination to an exciting day!
