Enjoy tea in our private city garden, or take a leisurely walk through the Western Promenade Historic Neighborhood, an architecturally rich residential area. First designed in 1836, and completed at the turn of the last century, it sits high above sea level, and affords spectacular views of the western Maine highlands as well as the harbor. At check-in, from 4 to 6 in the afternoon, enjoy bracing Irish tea or have a glass of wine, served in the private garden or by the fire in one of the sitting rooms. Meander through the common rooms, and view the fabulous collection of contemporary and period art.

Breakfast is served from 8 to 9:30 in the sunny, art and antique-filled dining room. Fresh fruits, aromatic coffee and morning entrees such as french toast, poached eggs and capers, or blueberry pancakes are but a small sampling of the delicious and hearty breakfast fare.

At night, retire to one of eight stunning rooms, many with fireplaces and all appointed with antiques and fine linens. All rooms have private baths, telephone and televisions. Indulge in the luxury of a good night's sleep and awake refreshed to a full breakfast in the art and antique-filled dining room.
