The Herbert is a restored Grand Hotel dating back to 1917. We are located in the Carrabassett Valley of Central Maine which offers year round recreational activities.

The grounds surrounding the hotel are small but beautiful. Under the beautiful hardwood trees on the back lawn are two swing sets and a picnic table. Many birdhouses and feeders are hanging in the branches and you simply must get your picture taken in the "rock chair"!

As you open the oak door and step into the lobby, you'll be enveloped by the timeless grandeur of the grand hotel era. The spacious lobby features fumed oak panels and trim, polished brass fixtures, terrazzo floors, high tin ceilings, a huge fireplace and a grand piano. The period velvet couches invite you to "slow down and smell the roses".
