The Colony Hotel is spectacularly situated amid glorious and manicured gardens on a rocky promontory above the Atlantic Ocean. The white wooden structure was built in 1914 and spans a full 300 feet topped by a cupola and the weather vane of a large ship. The wrap around Ocean Porch and the gazebo offer views of the ocean and river.

The Colony has been a family run business since 1948 and the hotels amenities have expanded with each generation from the gentile attraction of the afternoon tea/ fresh cut flowers/ white wicker chairs and lawn games to its heated saltwater swimming pool/ private safe/ surf beach/ and gorgeous organic gardens. The hotels distinct silhouette is visible from both land and sea serving as a landmark for seafaring vessels for decades and as a benchmark for all coastal hotels in the state.
